  • Lucky Cajun is the vision of George Blackwell Smith, whose journey with Cajun cuisine began far from a factory floor. Raised in Chattanooga and later attending high school and culinary school in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, George was immersed firsthand in the food, generosity, and culture of the Cajun community.

    Those shared meals cooked by friends, families, and neighbors left a lasting impression. Lucky Cajun isn’t just a seasoning brand; it’s a tribute. The name itself honors the people who opened their kitchens and their culture, shaping both George’s palate and his purpose as a chef.

    During the COVID era, like many chefs, George reached a turning point. After years of refining a personal seasoning blend adding, subtracting, perfecting he realized that seasoning was the most honest place to start. It could be made at home, controlled completely, and done right.

    The final version of Lucky Cajun’s Black Label seasoning came together in an unexpected way when George’s notoriously picky son asked for “that seasoning you make” on his food. That moment when both a chef and a child agreed sealed it. The recipe hasn’t changed since.

    George and the Lucky Cajun team will be on site and set up for direct purchase so guests can take home the same fresh-ground spices used during the showdown
